At the moment, it is very popular among young people to do sports. There is a huge variety of its kinds, people can choose whatever they like and what is close to their preference. There are football, ice hockey, tennis, surfing, climbing, swimming and many other. But there is one kind of sports that is rather controversial - it is boxing. Let us discuss advantages and disadvantages of it.
One of the argument for boxing is that this kind of sports as the other ones is very useful for general physical development. It is good for people who want to be in a good shape and be healthy because boxing training includes exercises for almost all muscle groups. This kind of sports builds character. It is especially important for people who are weak and timid. But it is useful for quarrelsome young people as well because boxing disciplines. Another plus of this kind of sports is that it teaches the selfdefence which is very important nowadays.
On the other hand, there is one disadvantage. In my opinion boxing can be rather traumatic, especially at the very beginning when young people cannot control their power. So I think the cases when people break their noses and have bruises are not that rare.
All in all, I believe that boxing as the other kinds of sports is very useful and interesting for young people but they should remember that they need to be very careful and control their power and passion.
