Kemerovo region ( Kuzbass ) - the subject of the Russian Federation , is a part of the Siberian Federal District .
Kemerovo Region was established January 26, 1943 decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR release of the Novosibirsk region.
Area area - 95,725 square kilometers ; on this indicator region occupies 34th place in the country.

The region is located in the south- east of Western Siberia , occupying spurs of the Altai and Sayan .
The length of the region from north to south about 500 km from west to east - 300 km.
