Sugar - the Earth's largest desert, located in the North of the African continent. Stretches approximately 4800 km from West to East and from 800 to 1200 km from North to South; has an area of about 8.6 million km2 (about 30 % of the area of Africa, a little larger than the area of Brazil). West Sugar is washed by the Atlantic ocean, from North limited Atlas mountains and the Mediterranean sea, and from the East by the Red sea. The southern boundary of the wilderness is defined by the area sedentary ancient sand dunes at 16° n, to the South of which is the Sahel is a transition region for the Sudanese Savannah[1].
