The years we spend at school are important, not just because they are part of getting an EDUCATE, but also because it is a time when students learn control. Most TEENAGE believe rules are necessary in school, otherwise schools would be like the streets. But some things work better than others. Getting suspended for example used to be a common PUNISH for badly behaved students, but now practices that take students out of school don’t REAL work. It has become much more important to make each individual feel like they have helped the school become better. ‘When students feel like they are doing something WORTH for the school as a whole, they are less likely to lose interest and as a result their PERFORM and overall BEHAVE will improve,’ says headmaster Martin Reedie. ‘Recently, we have asked parents to come to the school when there have been discipline problems. Parents are usually very happy to see that schools have evolved in this way. In this age of constant technological IMPROVE, it’s only NATURE for schools to change.’
