Pinocchio is the main character of the book titled “The Adventures of Pinocchio: The Story of a Puppet” which was written by Carlo Collodi.
At the beginning of the story Pinocchio is a wooden puppet. Pinocchio was carved out of a piece of oak by the old wood-carver Gepetto. Pinocchio acts like a human child: he often gets into trouble. When he tells a lie, his nose grows longer, and when he tells the truth, his nose becomes normal. Pinocchio gradually learns to behave and to take care of his "father" Gepetto and then - with the help of the Blue Fairy - he becomes a real boy.
