But now people are killing our planet.
Many species of animals birds and disappeared. Millions of animals die each year because humans have polluted their natural homes. In addition, every year people cut down more trees, build more roads, use more land for farming. Because of this, jungles, fields and wild forests are reduced.
The air outside, once clean and fresh, can now be polluted by the activities of power plants and factories. There are no fish in some of our rivers today. In some rivers you can see thick foam, which is caused by chemical waste.
Forests are disappearing all over the world. People cut down trees because they need wood and paper or a new place for farms and houses. Forests the size of Belgium are destroyed every year. This is an international disaster. Even if new trees are planted, it takes many years before they grow.
Go to the sea and there you will see pollution all around you. There is a lot of garbage on the beaches. Some of the garbage was left by people, some-brought by water.
Pollution is very dangerous for people, the nature around us and the environment.
We live among the garbage and waste that we have created ourselves: soot machines, used packaging, etc. People not only pollute the environment. They pollute themselves with cigarettes, alcohol and inferior food.
These are some of the most serious environmental problems that exist in the world. And do not pretend that they do not exist-they are. And even more: they are constantly getting more serious! What happens if we don't try to solve these problems? The predictions of scientists on this issue are alarming.
